Girls' Latrines

Education Stability with Latrines

Often girls must leave school once they begin puberty due to a lack to toilets.  Building on-site latrines for girls at Bukhulungu Primary School has helped girls remain in school and continue their education.

COCE has partnered with Good Steward Global Initiative to deliver books to rural schools in Busia County, Kenya. The books arrived in the summer of 2015 and have been distributed among local primary schools that have constructed their own libraries. Our hope is to enhance the academic resources of the students as well as engage the larger community in a pursuit of literacy.

Meet Erick

Academic Sponsorship

Erick is one of the many students we have sponsored over the years.  We began with his Secondary School Fees and have followed him through his third year in medical school at the prestigious Kenya Medical Training Institute, where he will be receiving a diploma in Public Health.  He hopes to return to his village and use his knowledge and skills to improve the health and well-being of the community.

One year of school costs between $1000-$1500.
