What does the Little x Little Campaign have to do with one of Aesop’s Fables?
"Kindness is never wasted." This quote comes from Aesop's fable “The Lion and the Mouse.” In the story, a small mouse shows kindness to a lion, which ultimately saves the lion’s life (Watts and Aesop, 2000). Just as the mouse’s small act of kindness saved the life of the lion, the acts of kindness shown during the Global Giving 2025 Little x Little Campaign will bring about monumental change.
The Little x Little Campaign provided a platform for non-profit organizations from around the world to participate in a four-day crowdfunding fundraiser. The campaign was an opportunity to celebrate the power and the impact of small acts of kindness and giving. The Collective for Orphan Care and Education (COCE Kenya) was honored to be a part of the campaign. Throughout the campaign, with the support of COCE Kenya’s supporters and friends, $6,188 was raised for the Library for Sijowa. Through 86 unique donors, $5,220 was raised in direct donations and $968 was raised in matching funds. The donations raised through the Little x Little Campaign will be providing the materials and resources needed to complete the tiling for the Library for Sijowa.
The kindness shown by so many during this fundraising event has made a significant impact on COCE Kenya, Busia County, and the Library for Sijowa. COCE Kenya feels an endless amount of gratitude towards the community that continues to show dedication and support for COCE Kenya’s mission. Every donation, no matter the size, brings COCE Kenya one step closer to opening the library's doors. Once opened, the Library for Sijowa will increase access to technology, education, and other necessary resources. Obtaining these resources will play a part in enacting long-lasting community support and change.
Once again, thank you to those who participated in the Little x Little Campaign. Additionally, thank you to all those who continue to show their kindness and support to COCE Kenya’s mission of empowering the youths of rural Kenya.
